The Day We Met

Like many love stories these days, ours began online—just two slightly awkward, nerdy souls hoping to find someone who could match our quirks, our curiosity, and maybe even our love of books, games, or movie soundtracks.

We met for lunch, and while it was simple on the surface, something about it felt different right away. The conversation came easily. There were no forced laughs or awkward pauses—just two people connecting over shared oddities and unexpected comfort. Somewhere between bites and smiles, the nerves faded, and it started to feel… easy. Familiar, even.

Not quite ready for the day to end, we wandered into 2nd & Charles—a place full of stories, memories, and endless conversation starters. We meandered through aisles of books, flipped through old records, pointed out childhood favorites, and gently teased each other’s taste in everything from video games to fantasy novels. It didn’t feel like we were killing time—it felt like we were already building something.

Later, we saw a movie together. It was quiet and cozy, the kind of ending that doesn’t ask for grand gestures, just the calm presence of someone who already feels like home.

Our first date wasn’t extravagant. It didn’t need to be. It was full of small, perfect moments—the kind that stick with you. And looking back, it was the beginning of something we both knew was real.

The atmosphere was filled with joy and love, as we gathered together to share a simple meal — a quiet setting that felt both intimate and meaningful. With our parents by our side, bearing witness to the beginning of a new chapter, Patrick expressed his deep commitment and love in a heartfelt proposal.

This moment, marked by sincerity and the support of our closest family, reflected the foundation upon which our relationship is built — one of trust, devotion, and shared dreams for the future.

We treasure this special memory deeply and feel honored to have had the love of our families surrounding us. It is with great happiness and anticipation that we now prepare to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with all of you.
